LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring David Adams and Kimberly Adams Russell
upon the occasion of their designation as recipients of the Edwin Sper-
ber Legacy Award by the Northeast Kidney Foundation

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those distinguished citizens who devote their time and ener-
gies to the service of their community and profession, participating in
civic affairs and enhancing the character and quality of life for all
citizens; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
David Adams and Kimberly Adams Russell upon the occasion of their desig-
nation as recipients of the Edwin Sperber Legacy Award; this auspicious
occasion will be celebrated at the Northeast Kidney Foundation's annual
Gift of Life Celebration, to be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at The
Desmond Hotel and Conference Center in Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Northeast Kidney Foundation is a voluntary health organ-
ization dedicated to preventing kidney disease and enhancing the lives
of all those affected; formed in 1974 as a philanthropic gift of Edwin
and Rhoda Sperber, the Foundation provides services to patients, family
members, the general public and clinical and academic professionals
throughout the Northeast; and
WHEREAS, The mission of the Northeast Kidney Foundation is to improve
the quality of life of those affected by kidney disease and related
conditions through early identification, intervention, prevention and
support services; to promote organ donation; and to empower those it
serves to be an effective voice for better healthcare at the local,
state and federal levels; and
WHEREAS, David Adams and Kimberly Adams Russell are the principal
partners at Frank Adams Jewelers, a leading Capital Region jeweler with
locations in Albany and Saratoga Springs; and
WHEREAS, The Frank Adams Jewelers company philosophy is a simple one,
to build a legacy of integrity, trust, and pride by providing world
class service, selection, and support to the communities they serve; and
WHEREAS, A third generation family-owned business, Frank Adams Jewel-
ers, led by the efforts of David Adams and Kimberly Adams Russell, is a
proud supporter of countless national and local charitable organizations
spanning causes from the arts to healthcare; and
WHEREAS,The family and staff at Frank Adams Jewelers work diligently
to lend both financial assistance and strategic vision to as many commu-
nity events and fundraising efforts as possible, often rotating funds
from year to year to extend the reach of these endeavors; and
WHEREAS, The charitable and organizational affiliations of Frank Adams
Jewelers include the Northeast Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Socie-
ty, American Red Cross, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, JDRF, Saratoga
Bridges, Park Playhouse, The Jewish Federation, the Northeast Kidney
Foundation, Saratoga Hospital, the National Museum of Dance, Families in
Need of Assistance, The Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, The
Center for Disability Services, St. Peter's Hospital Foundation, the
Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center, Crohn's and Colitis Foun-
dation, The Women's Fund, the Massry Center for the Arts, and hundreds
of others; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their professional and commu-
nity service, a period of constructive involvement, David Adams and
Kimberly Adams Russell have stood constant in dignity, good grace and
humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which David Adams and Kimberly Adams Russell
have displayed throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their profession and community,
and have shown a long and sustained commitment to excellence, certainly
have earned the recognition and applause of all citizens of this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor David Adams and Kimberly Adams Russell upon the occasion of their
designation as recipients of the Edwin Sperber Legacy Award by the
Northeast Kidney Foundation; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to David Adams and Kimberly Adams Russell.
