LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Minister Laurence Sylvestre upon the
occasion of her designation for special recognition by the Ambassador
For Christ International Outreach Ministry on September 1, 2013

WHEREAS, The character and richness of religious and community life in
this noble Empire State are nourished and fulfilled through the faithful
concern and selfless devotion of those who would commit their energies
and purpose to the ministry of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to bring full recog-
nition and just tribute to those individuals who distinguish themselves
and the ministry through their unremitting commitment and preeminence of
service; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Minister
Laurence Sylvestre upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Ambassador For Christ International Outreach Ministry
at its 3rd Annual Pastors Appreciation Gala Dinner, to be held on
Sunday, September 1, 2013, at the Astoria World Manor, Astoria, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Minister Laurence Sylvestre is being recognized for her dedi-
cated work within the Haitian and the American communities; and
WHEREAS, Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Minister Laurence Sylvestre
migrated to the United States in 1996, and now resides in Queens, New
York; she was licensed and ordained a Minister at Christ The Rock Church
and her evangelistic ministry expands to a mid-week ministry called
"Evangelism Ministry"; and
WHEREAS, As an international evangelist, Minister Laurence Sylvestre
has ministered in the United States and the West Indies; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when a person
of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our attention it is
appropriate to publicly and jubilantly proclaim and commend that indi-
vidual for the edification of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Minister Laurence Sylvestre upon the occasion of her designation
for special recognition by the Ambassador For Christ International
Outreach Ministry on September 1, 2013, noting her unremitting and
compassionate faith and her exemplary service to God, man, and her
community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Minister Laurence Sylvestre.
