LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Reverend Georges Defay upon the occasion
of his designation for special recognition by the Ambassador For Christ
International Outreach Ministry on September 1, 2013

WHEREAS, The character and richness of religious and community life in
this noble Empire State are nourished and fulfilled through the faithful
concern and selfless devotion of those who would commit their energies
and purpose to the ministry of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to bring full recog-
nition and just tribute to those individuals who distinguish themselves
and the ministry through their unremitting commitment and preeminence of
service; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Reverend
Georges Defay upon the occasion of his designation for special recogni-
tion by the Ambassador For Christ International Outreach Ministry at its
3rd Annual Pastors Appreciation Gala Dinner, to be held on Sunday,
September 1, 2013, at the Astoria World Manor, Astoria, New York; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Georges Defay is being recognized for his dedicated
work within the Haitian and the American communities; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Georges Defay was called to the ministry at his new
birth in April 1978; for the past 32 years he has worked in many differ-
ent ministerial and leadership capacities, conducted numerous evangeli-
cal crusades and held many leadership conferences throughout the United
States, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic; and
WHEREAS, In 1985, Reverend Georges Defay was formally ordained and he
founded Christian Community Alliance, a missionary and community church
in Brooklyn, New York; he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Med
and Biology from City University of New York, and has attended graduate
school at Queens College and Teachers College, Columbia University; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when a person
of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our attention it is
appropriate to publicly and jubilantly proclaim and commend that indi-
vidual for the edification of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Reverend Georges Defay upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by the Ambassador For Christ International Outreach
Ministry at its 3rd Annual Pastors Appreciation Gala Dinner, noting his
unremitting and compassionate faith and his exemplary service to God,
man, and his community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Reverend Georges Defay.
