LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Bishop Alfred Leroy Phillips upon the
occasion of his designation for special recognition by the Ambassador
For Christ International Outreach Ministry on September 1, 2013

WHEREAS, The character and richness of religious and community life in
this noble Empire State are nourished and fulfilled through the faithful
concern and selfless devotion of those who would commit their energies
and purpose to the ministry of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to bring full recog-
nition and just tribute to those individuals who distinguish themselves
and the ministry through their unremitting commitment and preeminence of
service; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Bishop Alfred
Leroy Phillips upon the occasion of his designation for special recogni-
tion by the Ambassador For Christ International Outreach Ministry at its
3rd Annual Pastors Appreciation Gala Dinner, to be held on Sunday,
September 1, 2013, at the Astoria World Manor, Astoria, New York; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Phillips is being recognized for his dedicated work
within the Haitian and the American Communities; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Phillips founded the Anointed by God Alliance, Semi-
nary and Chaplains (ABG); he also serves as the Chief Chaplain for the
New York Regional Police; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Phillips served as the Senior Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist
Church, Brooklyn, New York, for ten years; he currently serves as Bishop
of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, the Bethel Christian Church of Brooklyn,
and the Anointed by God Ministries of Charlotte, North Carolina; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Phillips is, in addition, the author of EGOS IN THE
PULPIT; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when a person
of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our attention it is
appropriate to publicly and jubilantly proclaim and commend that indi-
vidual for the edification of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Bishop Alfred Leroy Phillips upon the occasion of his designation
for special recognition by the Ambassador For Christ International
Outreach Ministry on September 1, 2013, noting his unremitting and
compassionate faith and his exemplary service to God, man, and his
community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bishop Alfred Leroy Phillips.
