LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Reverend Dr. Luckner Lorient upon the
occasion of his designation for special recognition by the Ambassador
For Christ International Outreach Ministry on September 1, 2013

WHEREAS, The character and richness of religious and community life in
this noble Empire State are nourished and fulfilled through the faithful
concern and selfless devotion of those who would commit their energies
and purpose to the ministry of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to bring full recog-
nition and just tribute to those individuals who distinguish themselves
and the ministry through their unremitting commitment and preeminence of
service; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Reverend Dr.
Luckner Lorient upon the occasion of his designation for special recog-
nition by the Ambassador For Christ International Outreach Ministry at
its 3rd Annual Pastors Appreciation Gala Dinner, to be held on Sunday,
September 1, 2013, at the Astoria World Manor, Astoria, New York; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Luckner Lorient is being recognized for his
dedicated work within the Haitian and American communities; and
WHEREAS, Born in Cap-Haitian, Haiti, and earning his law degree from
Cap-Haitian Lay School and his Master's and Honorary degree in Theology
from the University Christian D'Haiti, Reverend Dr. Luckner Lorient
migrated to the United States in 1982; he has served as pastor of the
Eglise Baptist Clarte Celeste in Brooklyn, New York, since 1985; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Reverend Dr. Luckner Lorient formed an organiza-
tion called Clergy Haitian Pastor's Association, where he serves as
deputy vice president; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when a person
of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our attention it is
appropriate to publicly and jubilantly proclaim and commend that indi-
vidual for the edification of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Reverend Dr. Luckner Lorient upon the occasion of his designation
for special recognition by the Ambassador For Christ International
Outreach Ministry on September 1, 2013, noting his unremitting and
compassionate faith and his exemplary service to God, man, and his
community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Reverend Dr. Luckner Lorient.
