LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Kyle Flanagan upon being named a
finalist for the 2012-13 Hobey Baker Award, and signing a one year
contract with the Philadelphia Flyers

WHEREAS, Kyle Flanagan, through his diligence and rigorous efforts, was
named a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, as one of the top 10 colle-
giate ice hockey players of the 2012-13 collegiate hockey season; and
WHEREAS, Kyle Flanagan, who recently completed his senior year at St.
Lawrence University in his hometown of Canton, has also signed a one
year contract with the Philadelphia Flyers; and
WHEREAS, Kyle Flanagan will join the Flyers' American Hockey League
affiliate, Adirondack Phantoms; and
WHEREAS, During his senior college season, Kyle Flanagan recorded 15
goals and 32 assists for 47 points over the course of 35 games; and
WHEREAS, Kyle Flanagan also served as a captain of the St. Lawrence
Hockey Team for his final two seasons; and
WHEREAS, During his four years as a college player, Kyle Flanagan
scored 46 goals, with 101 assists for 147 points over 134 games; and
WHEREAS, Prior to his college hockey career, Kyle Flanagan played for
two seasons for the Cedar Rapids Roughriders in the United States Hockey
League; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding young man, has shown a passion for his sport
and has achieved unparalleled athletic success; and
WHEREAS, Kyle Flanagan's perseverance in rising through the ranks of
young hockey players is a strong indication of his ability to master
difficult tasks; his accomplishments will enable him to emerge as a
leader, fully equipped to meet the challenges of today's complex socie-
ty; and
WHEREAS, Kyle Flanagan is a credit to his family, his school, his
community, his State and his Nation, and no doubt his future will be
filled with accomplishments of equal importance; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of the significance of this meritorious achievement, to
congratulate and honor Kyle Flanagan upon being named a finalist for the
2012-13 Hobey Baker Award and for signing a contract with the Philadelp-
hia Flyers; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kyle Flanagan.
