LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Alan P. Goldberg upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the Shining Star Award from the Park
Playhouse

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Alan
P. Goldberg upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Shining Star Award from the Park Playhouse, to be celebrated at the VIP
Gala Reception on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at the Palace Theater in
Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, Tufts College graduate, and former CEO of 1st Albany Capital,
Alan P. Goldberg is being honored because of his commitment to the Arts
in the Capital Region; and
WHEREAS, An active member within the community, Alan P. Goldberg is
Chair of the Board of the Palace Theater, a member on the Board for the
Albany Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Albany Institute of History
and Art, and serves as the Co-Chair of the Regional Economic Development
Council of Arts and Tourism Committee; and
WHEREAS, Alan P. Goldberg gives not only of his time, but also of his
expertise and guidance, to the staff and directors of Park Playhouse; in
addition, he developed the collaboration between Park Playhouse and the
Palace Theater; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Alan P. Goldberg upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Shining Star Award from the Park Playhouse; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Alan P. Goldberg.
