LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Rose Of Sharon Grand Lodge And The
Mary Magdalene Grand Chapter of the state of New York upon the occasion
of hosting its Annual Day on June 7, 2013

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
those renowned fraternal organizations that devote their energy,
resources and thoughtful care to improving the quality and character of
life in their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Rose Of Sharon Grand Lodge And The Mary Magdalene Grand Chapter of
the state of New York upon the occasion of hosting its Annual Day on
Friday, June 7, 2013, at the Albany Hilton, Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Rose Of Sharon Grand Lodge And The Mary Magdalene Grand
Chapter of the state of New York is a chapter of the International Free
and Accepted, Modern Masons Inc., and Order of the Eastern Star Lucille
J. Smith District No. 7; and
WHEREAS, International Free and Accepted, Modern Masons Inc., and
Order of the Eastern Star was organized in August of 1950 by the late
Dr. William Banks of Detroit, Michigan; and
WHEREAS, International has expanded its organization to include Lodges
and Chapters throughout the United States and to some foreign countries;
and
WHEREAS, International members come together at conventions to assess
the organizations' good works and accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, International is a fraternal organization, charitable and
benevolent in nature, founded on Christian principles and its objectives
are to provide moral leadership, administer to the needy, and attend to
the sick and bereaved; and
WHEREAS, Its National Officers are headed by Supreme President, the
Illustrious James O. Dogan, Supreme Grand Master, Illustrious Kenneth
Hollowell and Supreme Grand Matron, Daughter Patricia Hollowell; and
WHEREAS, The State Grand Master for the state of New York is Brother
Edward Walker; and The State Grand Matron for the state of New York is
Sister Angelina Moore; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Rose Of Sharon Grand Lodge And The Mary Magdalene Grand
Chapter of the state of New York upon the occasion of hosting its Annual
Day on June 7, 2013; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Rose Of Sharon Grand Lodge And The Mary Magdalene Grand
Chapter of the state of New York.
