LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Gary Schoer for his distinguished
service as a board member of Harborfields Central School District

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in this great
State; and
WHEREAS, The result of many individuals' efforts, the excellence and
the success of Harborfields Central School District, is due in large
part to the efforts of its departing school board member, Gary Schoer;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Gary
Schoer for his distinguished service as a board member of Harborfields
Central School District, to be celebrated on Wednesday, June 19, 2013;
and
WHEREAS, Gary Schoer has been a member of the Harborfields Board of
Education for the past 18 years; throughout this period, he has demon-
strated his dedication and strong commitment to the district by working
to maintain Harborfields' tradition of excellence and providing a
complete well-rounded educational experience for all students; and
WHEREAS, Gary Schoer has volunteered as the student advisor for the
Mock Trial Team at Harborfields High School for many years; he remained
an informed board member by attending state and school board workshops;
as a result, he acquired the knowledge regarding changes in education
laws, NCLB, and financial accountability; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the life in their community and have shown a long and sustained
commitment to excellence certainly have earned recognition and applause;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Gary Schoer for his distinguished service as a board member of
Harborfields Central School District; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Gary Schoer.
