LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Andra and Leo Levine upon the occasion
of their designation as the recipients of the 2013 Merchant of the Year
Award by the Merrick Chamber of Commerce on June 10, 2013

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the leaders of commerce and industry whose accomplishments
contribute to the economic health and prosperity of the communities of
the State of New York and individuals whose purposeful endeavors, as
involved members of the community, enhance the quality of life therein;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and. fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Andra and Leo Levine upon the occasion of their designation as the
recipients of the 2013 Merchant of the Year Award by the Merrick Chamber
of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, Andra and Leo Levine will be recognized for their dedication
and service to the Merrick community at the Chamber's Annual Merchant
and Professional of the Year Dinner, to be held at the RS Jones Restau-
rant, Merrick, New York, on Monday, June 10, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Owners of Merrick Surgical Supplies, Andra and Leo Levine
provide a service that is important to the residents within their commu-
nity, and truly care for each customer; furthermore, Leo Levine now
serves as a Chamber of Commerce Board Member; and
WHEREAS, Andra and Leo Levine have been called upon to contribute
their time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and
have always given of themselves unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Andra and Leo Levine have stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Andra and Leo Levine have displayed
throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body that when the
noble aims and accomplishments of individuals such as Andra and Leo
Levine are brought to our attention it is appropriate to publicly
proclaim and commend them for the edification and emulation of others;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Andra and Leo Levine upon the occasion of their designation as the
recipients of the 2013 Merchant of the Year Award by the Merrick Chamber
of Commerce on June 10, 2013; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Andra and Leo Levine.
