LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Omega Center for Sustainable
Living upon the occasion of hosting its "Where We Go From Here" Confer-
ence

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Omega Center for Sustainable Living upon the occasion of hosting its
"Where We Go From Here" Conference on October 4-6, 2013; and
WHEREAS, The Omega Center for Sustainable Living (OCSL) demonstrates
and teaches what is possible through regenerative design; its award-win-
ning building, Eco Machine and innovative educational programs offer
visitors and students a path toward a sustainable, just, resilient, and
regenerative future where people and nature work side-by-side to build a
better life for all; and
WHEREAS, The Omega Center for Sustainable Living was founded on the
holistic worldview that the well-being of each of us is deeply connected
to the well-being of all living things; since 1977, it has offered
diverse and innovative educational experiences that inspire an inte-
grated approach to personal and social change; it is a nonprofit organ-
ization that continues to be at the forefront of human development; and
WHEREAS, Each year, more than 23,000 people attend workshops and
educational programs delivered by hundreds of teachers, artists, heal-
ers, and thinkers on the leading edge of their disciplines; with special
attention to the Omega Center for Sustainable Living's key initiatives
in sustainability, women's leadership, veterans care, and service, it
brings awareness to issues that must be addressed in order for society
to heal and flourish; and
WHEREAS, The Omega Center for Sustainable Living's distinguished
record merits the recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative
Body; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Omega Center for Sustainable Living upon the occasion of
hosting its "Where We Go From Here" Conference; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Omega Center for Sustainable Living.
