LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Deana Masuicca upon the occasion of her
retirement after 33 years of distinguished service to the Oswego YMCA

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals that are devoted to the welfare of the community
and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Deana Masuicca upon the occasion of her retirement after 33 years of
distinguished service to the Oswego YMCA; and
WHEREAS, Before her service to the Oswego YMCA, Deana Masuicca, was
employed with the Oswego Country Club, the Oswego County Parks and
Recreation, the American Heart Association, and the YCS; and
WHEREAS, Deana Masuicca has been the Executive Director of the Oswego
YMCA since 1984, and counts her service as being her greatest accom-
plishment, helping to bring the YMCA back to life; and
WHEREAS, She is also a member of the Oswego Rotary and has served as a
Director for the Oswego Chamber of Commerce and on many other boards and
community organizations; and
WHEREAS, Deana Masuicca was also honored in 2007 by Zonta Interna-
tional of Oswego, a global organization of executives and professionals
working together to advance the status of women worldwide through
service and advocacy as a Woman of Achievement; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Deana Masuicca was the recipient of a 2011 Paul
Harris Award, sponsored by the Oswego Rotary, for her contributions to
community projects and for exemplifying the Rotary Ideas of "service
above self"; and
WHEREAS, For 33 years, Deana Masuicca has rendered faithful, conscien-
tious and valuable service to the Oswego YMCA and to her community,
serving with loyalty, honor and distinction; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure with the Oswego YMCA, Deana Masuicca has
earned the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Deana Masuicca upon the occasion of her retirement after 33 years
of distinguished service to the Oswego YMCA; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Deana Masuicca.
