LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Shari Strumeyer upon the occasion of her
designation as the 2013 BELLMORE LIFE Mother of the Year

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose professional lives, personal endeavors and
community service are an example and inspiration to their colleagues,
friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Shari Strumeyer upon the occasion of her designation as the 2013 BELL-
MORE LIFE Mother of the Year; and
WHEREAS, A native of Bellmore, Shari Strumeyer is a homemaker and
dedicated mother of two; she left a professional career as an insurance
underwriter in order to focus on raising her children full-time; and
WHEREAS, Shari Strumeyer and her husband, Gary, are the proud parents
of two daughters, Jessica and Allison; and
WHEREAS, Shari Strumeyer's commitment to her immediate family extends
to others; she cared for her mother, staying by her side as she dealt
with a serious illness, and serves on the board of the Cambodian Chil-
dren's Fund, sponsoring a Cambodian child; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents a unique opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Shari Strumeyer
for exemplifying the qualities of compassion, care, and concern for
others; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her life, Shari Strumeyer has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor, and has earned the respect and admiration
of her family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Shari Strumeyer has displayed
throughout her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Shari Strumeyer upon the occasion of her designation as the 2013
BELLMORE LIFE Mother of the Year; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Shari Strumeyer.
