LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Kayli McTague upon the occasion of
being honored for her outstanding scholastic achievement at the Schol-
ars' Recognition Dinner, May 8, 2013

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, honoring the youth of today, and leaders
of tomorrow, whose character and achievements exemplify the ideals and
values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Kayli
McTague upon the occasion of being honored for her outstanding scholas-
tic achievement at the Scholars' Recognition Dinner, May 8, 2013, at the
Albany Marriott Hotel; this year's keynote speaker was Dr. Susan Scrim-
shaw, President of The Sage Colleges; and
WHEREAS, The Scholars' Recognition Program honors the outstanding
scholastic achievement of members of the graduating classes of the
public, private, parochial and BOCES secondary schools in 11 neighboring
Capital District counties; and
WHEREAS, The high schools selected these students to recognize their
scholarship, leadership and service to their schools and communities;
the students then each nominated a teacher who has influenced their
lives in a significant way; and
WHEREAS, A student at Albany High School, Kayli McTague is a sincere
and intelligent young woman; academically, she has succeeded at the
highest level and will complete 14 courses for college credit by the
time she graduates; and
WHEREAS, Kayli McTague's accomplishments outside of the classroom are
far too many to list; she has served in leadership positions in more
than seven organizations, and received numerous awards; she is well-
known at Albany High School and throughout the City of Albany as a
compassionate, generous young woman who gives selflessly of her time;
and
WHEREAS, Kayli McTague credits her teacher, Carol DiNovo for inspiring
her; Kayli has never in her life met someone with such certain, evident
passion and she believes this remarkable educator instills a great love
of learning in each child she reaches; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, this
scholar now stands honorably, with just pride in her accomplishments and
in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and appreciat-
ing the caring counsel and support provided by her teachers and parents;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Kayli McTague upon the occasion of being honored for her
outstanding scholastic achievement at the Scholars' Recognition Dinner;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kayli McTague.
