LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Jacob Hallenbeck upon the occasion
of being honored for his outstanding scholastic achievement at the Scho-
lars' Recognition Dinner, May 8, 2013

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, honoring the youth of today, and leaders
of tomorrow, whose character and achievements exemplify the ideals and
values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Jacob
Hallenbeck upon the occasion of being honored for his outstanding scho-
lastic achievement at the Scholars' Recognition Dinner, May 8, 2013, at
the Albany Marriott Hotel; this year's keynote speaker was Dr. Susan
Scrimshaw, President of The Sage Colleges; and
WHEREAS, The Scholars' Recognition Program honors the outstanding
scholastic achievement of members of the graduating classes of the
public, private, parochial and BOCES secondary schools in 11 neighboring
Capital District counties; and
WHEREAS, The high schools selected these students to recognize their
scholarship, leadership and service to their schools and communities;
the students then each nominated a teacher who has influenced their
lives in a significant way; and
WHEREAS, A student at Rensselaer Educational Center, Jacob Hallenbeck
is a conscientious and caring individual, who continually demonstrates
his compassion for his classmates as well as faculty; his mild mannered
eagerness to embrace the concepts presented to him and apply them to his
technical field is unprecedented amongst his peers; and
WHEREAS, Jacob Hallenbeck has selflessly given countless hours to his
community as a volunteer fireman and continues his growth as a responsi-
ble, active, and productive citizen; he has a great sense of humor and a
positive attitude that will serve him well in life; and
WHEREAS, Jacob Hallenbeck credits his teacher Mr Danny Ramirez who
upholds and portrays many high standards to his peers and students and
is constantly lending a helping hand and offering advice on how students
can pursue excellence; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, this
scholar now stands honorably, with just pride in his accomplishments and
in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and appreciat-
ing the caring counsel and support provided by his teachers and parents;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Jacob Hallenbeck upon the occasion of being honored for his
outstanding scholastic achievement at the Scholars' Recognition Dinner;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jacob Hallenbeck.
