LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Gyneth Campbell upon the occasion
of being honored for her outstanding scholastic achievement at the Scho-
lars' Recognition Dinner, May 8, 2013

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, honoring the youth of today, and leaders
of tomorrow, whose character and achievements exemplify the ideals and
values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Gyneth
Campbell upon the occasion of being honored for her outstanding scholas-
tic achievement at the Scholars' Recognition Dinner, May 8, 2013, at the
Albany Marriott Hotel; this year's keynote speaker was Dr. Susan Scrim-
shaw, President of The Sage Colleges; and
WHEREAS, The Scholars' Recognition Program honors the outstanding
scholastic achievement of members of the graduating classes of the
public, private, parochial and BOCES secondary schools in 11 neighboring
Capital District counties; and
WHEREAS, The high schools selected these students to recognize their
scholarship, leadership and service to their schools and communities;
the students then each nominated a teacher who has influenced their
lives in a significant way; and
WHEREAS, Ranking No. 3 in her class at Colonie Central High School,
Gyneth Campbell has been a picture of determination, poise, thoroughness
and pure desire; she is a team leader in the PLTW program and has
received a NROTC scholarship; and
WHEREAS, Gyneth Campbell intends to serve her country and study
biomedical engineering; and
WHEREAS, Greatly influencing Gyneth Campbell's scholastic success has
been her teacher, Susan Cresanti, whose passion, dedication and enthusi-
asm has increased Gyneth's love for math and the sciences; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, this
scholar now stands honorably, with just pride in her accomplishments and
in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and appreciat-
ing the caring counsel and support provided by her teachers and parents;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Gyneth Campbell upon the occasion of being honored for her
outstanding scholastic achievement at the Scholars' Recognition Dinner;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Gyneth Campbell.
