LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Michael Ryman upon the occasion of his
designation as a recipient of a 2013 Mid-Hudson Athletic League Senior
Scholar Athlete Award

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Michael Ryman
upon the occasion of his designation as a recipient of a 2013 Mid-Hudson
Athletic League (MHAL) Senior Scholar Athlete Award; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Michael Ryman has distin-
guished himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and matu-
rity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposeful-
ness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Michael Ryman, a student at Ellenville High School in Ellen-
ville, New York, is ranked 14th in his class and is a member of the
spring track, basketball, indoor track, and tennis teams; and
WHEREAS, He is a member of National Honor Society, chorus, Boys State,
Key Club, co-captain of the tennis team, and a basketball mentor; he
plans to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and major in Aero-
space Engineering; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Michael Ryman
has brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Michael Ryman may stand with pride in his achievements, expe-
riencing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his accomplish-
ments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he continues
his education; and
WHEREAS, Michael Ryman represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of his
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Michael Ryman upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
a 2013 Mid-Hudson Athletic League Senior Scholar Athlete Award, and to
wish him well in his future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Michael Ryman.
