LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Belloff's Department Store upon the
occasion of celebrating its 100th Anniversary

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses which substantially
contribute to the economic vitality of their communities and the entire
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Belloff's Department Store upon the occasion of celebrating its 100th
Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, Belloff's Department Store was established in 1914 at 21 Main
Street in Adams, New York, by Russian native Aaron Belloff, a pioneer
who founded the business on hard work and exceptional customer service;
and
WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of Aaron Belloff, the store devel-
oped a stellar reputation, delivering excellent service to its customers
and treating its hardworking employees well; and
WHEREAS, Belloff's Department Store was also managed by Isadore
Belloff, and is currently run by David Belloff who has been the sole
operator of the business since the early 1990s; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the years, Belloff's Department Store has adapted
to the changing times, and today, a significant component of the busi-
ness is offering sporting goods and uniforms to local schools; and
WHEREAS, Since its beginning 100 years ago, Belloff's Department Store
has come to be known as a cornerstone of the Adams community, developing
a loyal following of customers who continue to rely on the store for its
quality offerings and outstanding customer service; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional business and its contributions to the local and
State economies, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Belloff's Department Store upon the occasion of celebrating its
100th Anniversary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Belloff's Department Store.
