LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending David Morill upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the Robert L. Weininger Memorial
V.F.W. Post No. 8692 on May 4, 2014

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the youth of
today, and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
David Morill upon the occasion of his designation for special recogni-
tion by the Robert L. Weininger Memorial V.F.W. Post No. 8692 at its
44th Annual Loyalty Day Ceremony on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at the Post
Hall, Colonie, New York; and
WHEREAS, As part of the Loyalty Day, "The Celebration of Patriotism,"
event, David Morill will be presented the 2014 PFC Raymond A. Ranellucci
Jr. Scholarship Award; and
WHEREAS, The PFC Raymond A. Ranellucci Jr. scholarship is given annu-
ally to a high school senior who submits a winning essay; and
WHEREAS, David Morill, a student at Bethlehem High School in Delmar,
New York, was selected as the 2014 scholarship recipient for his
outstanding essay on the theme, "The True Meaning of Memorial Day"; and
WHEREAS, Loyalty Day is a commemorative holiday, during the observance
of which Americans pause to celebrate our freedom and to reaffirm our
allegiance to the United States, while also remembering our responsibil-
ities to continue the legacy of liberty; and
WHEREAS, In publicly and effectively reflecting on the values of
honor, sacrifice, and what it means to be an American, David Morill
exemplifies the ideals of Loyalty Day, and embodies the spirit of the
principles upon which this Nation was founded; and
WHEREAS, This occasion presents an opportunity for this Legislative
Body to wish David Morill continued success throughout his school years
and beyond; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend David Morill upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Robert L. Weininger Memorial V.F.W. Post No. 8692 at
its 44th Annual Loyalty Day Ceremony; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to David Morill.
