LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Ashley McEneaney upon the occasion of
her recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Associ-
ation as a 2014 OCIAA Scholar Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Ashley McEnea-
ney upon the occasion of her recognition by the Orange County Interscho-
lastic Athletic Association as a 2014 OCIAA Scholar Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Ashley McEneaney has distin-
guished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent, and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purpose-
fulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years;
and
WHEREAS, Ashley McEneaney, a student at Monticello High School, ranked
6th in her class with a GPA of 97.06, and was on the cross country,
Alpine skiing, indoor track and spring track teams; and
WHEREAS, She is a member of the National Honor Society, orchestra, the
Sullivan County Youth Council and the Dispute Resolution Center; she
plans to attend United States Air Force Academy and major in Astronauti-
cal Engineering; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Ashley McEnea-
ney has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Ashley McEneaney may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her accom-
plishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and
WHEREAS, Ashley McEneaney represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to
honor this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of
her future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ashley McEneaney upon the occasion of her recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2014 OCIAA Scho-
lar Athlete, and to wish her well in her future endeavors; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Ashley McEneaney.
