LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Hauk Boyes upon the occasion of his
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2014 OCIAA Scholar Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Hauk Boyes
upon the occasion of his recognition by the Orange County Interscholas-
tic Athletic Association as a 2014 OCIAA Scholar Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Hauk Boyes has distinguished
himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and maturity,
establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposefulness of
life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Hauk Boyes, a student at Tri-Valley High School, ranked 2nd
in his class with a GPA of 96.4, and was on the cross country, indoor
track and spring track teams; and
WHEREAS, He was President of the National Honor Society, the Salutato-
rian of his class, Vice President of the Theatre Club, class Treasurer,
and a member of the Varsity Athletic Club, band and chorus; he plans to
attend either Cornell University and major in agricultural science or
Clarkson University and major in neuroscience/psychology; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Hauk Boyes has
brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Hauk Boyes may stand with pride in his achievements, experi-
encing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his accomplish-
ments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he continues
his education; and
WHEREAS, Hauk Boyes represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of his
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Hauk Boyes upon the occasion of his recognition by the Orange
County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2014 OCIAA Scholar
Athlete, and to wish him well in his future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Hauk Boyes.
