LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the J.S.
Koster Hose Company Women's Auxiliary

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those
illustrious organizations within the State of New York whose focus and
intent have made a substantial impact on the quality of life in their
communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 50th Anniversary of the J.S. Koster Hose Company Women's
Auxiliary; and
WHEREAS, An organizational meeting was held on February 6, 1963, to
start a Ladies Fire Company Auxiliary; nine women and two firefighters
attended this first meeting and 50 years later there are 13 members,
with three being charter members; and
WHEREAS, The purpose of the J.S. Koster Hose Company Women's Auxiliary
is to assist and be available whenever needed by the firefighters or the
community, and promote sociability among the members of the auxiliary;
every year, the Auxiliary hosts a Chinese auction in June, a craft fair
in October, and a spaghetti dinner in November; and
WHEREAS, The 2013 officers are: President, Rosie McIntyre; Vice Presi-
dent, Donna Campany; Secretary, Judy Wheeler; Treasurer, Patricia Smith;
Trustees, Lisa Weber and Michele Malcolm; Chaplain, Eva Sessions;
Sergeant-of-Arms, Sally Riley; Photographer, Irma Sullivan; Nicole Krae-
ger; Dolores Bassett; Gladys Reese; Shelly Gydesen and Rosanne Butts;
and
WHEREAS, The J.S. Koster Hose Company Women's Auxiliary's distin-
guished record merits the recognition and respectful tribute of this
Legislative Body; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the J.S. Koster Hose Company Women's
Auxiliary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the members of the J.S. Koster Hose Company Women's Auxilia-
ry.
