LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Fallsburg, New York, police officers
Steven Kahn and Dylan Dainack upon the occasion of their designation for
special recognition for heroic actions

WHEREAS, Citizens across our State and Nation are inspired by and
indebted to our valiant police officers who exhibit courage and bravery
every day in the course of their duties; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the caring concern and heroic acts of individuals who take
prompt and appropriate action in emergency situations, nobly risking
their own lives in an effort to preserve the life of another; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Fallsburg, New York, police officers Steven Kahn and Dylan Dainack upon
the occasion of their designation for special recognition for heroic
actions; and
WHEREAS, On January 28, 2013, Fallsburg police officers, Steven Kahn
and Dylan Dainack, engaged in a high risk courageous rescue in waist
deep icy water to assist firefighters remove two motorists from an over-
turned car in Shaddock Pond in Hurleyville, New York; and
WHEREAS, The daring water rescue by police officers Steven Kahn and
Dylan Dainack saved the lives of the two motorists involved in the acci-
dent who were trapped in the upside down vehicle with their heads under
the water in the car; and
WHEREAS, Fallsburg, New York, police officers Steven Kahn and Dylan
Dainack received official letters of commendation for their intrepid
life saving rescue actions; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those individuals within the State of New York who perform
rescue operations with diligence and precision, resulting in heroic
life-saving actions; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Fallsburg, New York, police officers Steven Kahn and Dylan
Dainack for their consummate courage and bravery which serve as an
inspiration to us all; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Fallsburg, New York, police officers Steven Kahn and Dylan
Dainack.
