LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the Henry Stolzenthaler Council
No. 1675 Knights of Columbus upon the occasion of celebrating its 100th
Anniversary on April 27, 2013

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those fraternal organizations of high purpose and worthy
accomplishment whose endeavors have faithfully served the welfare of the
citizens of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late the Henry Stolzenthaler Council No. 1675 Knights of Columbus, upon
the occasion of celebrating its 100th Anniversary; this auspicious occa-
sion will be celebrated on Saturday, April 27, 2013; and
WHEREAS, The Knights of Columbus supports four ideals: Charity, Unity,
Fraternity and Patriotism; and
WHEREAS, In so effectively carrying out its mission, the Henry Stol-
zenthaler Council No. 1675 Knights of Columbus in Staten Island, New
York, has demonstrated the value of fostering camaraderie in a shared
vision of community service; this mission is indicative of a noble
organization which epitomizes the heart and soul of what it means to be
an American; and
WHEREAS, The members of Henry Stolzenthaler Council No. 1675 Knights
of Columbus in Staten Island, New York, are Catholic gentlemen committed
to the exemplification of charity, unity, fraternity, patriotism and
defense of the priesthood; and
WHEREAS, Founded by Father Michael J. McGivney on February 23, 1913,
the Henry Stolzenthaler Council No. 1675 Knights of Columbus will cele-
brate its 100th Anniversary on Saturday, April 27, 2013; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents a unique opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the Henry Stolzen-
thaler Council No. 1675 Knights of Columbus; and
WHEREAS, Organizations of singular distinction as the Henry Stolzen-
thaler Council No. 1675 Knights of Columbus provide a model for enhanc-
ing the quality of life in the community and, as such, merit the grate-
ful praise of the community of the State of New York; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Henry Stolzenthaler Council No. 1675 Knights of Colum-
bus, upon the occasion of celebrating its 100th Anniversary; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Henry Stolzenthaler Council No. 1675, Knights of Colum-
bus.
