LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Community Foundation of Herkimer and
Oneida Counties, Inc. upon the occasion of its designation as recipient
of the 2013 Community Development Award by the Herkimer County Chamber
of Commerce

WHEREAS, it is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those organizations within our midst that have
made significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties, Inc. upon the
occasion of its designation as recipient of the 2013 Community Develop-
ment Award by the Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion will be celebrated at the Chamber's
45th Annual Membership Meeting and Luncheon on Thursday, April 25, 2013,
at the Knights Inn in Little Falls, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Community Foundation has been a force for improving lives
and promoting philanthropy throughout Herkimer and Oneida counties since
1952; it has made more than 5,200 grants supporting causes such as
education, healthcare, the arts and the environment; and
WHEREAS, Grants are generated by 290 Funds that make up The Founda-
tion's endowment, established and advanced by area residents; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when an organ-
ization of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our atten-
tion, it should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens of this
great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties, Inc. upon
the occasion of its designation as recipient of the 2013 Community
Development Award by the Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties, Inc.
