LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Margie Adams in recognition of her 25
years of exemplary philanthropic volunteer service on behalf of St. Jude
Children's Research Hospital

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of certain
extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their valued
contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, Margie Adams has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Margie Adams
in recognition of her 25 years of exemplary philanthropic volunteer
service on behalf of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; and
WHEREAS, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is a comprehensive
center internationally recognized for its pioneering research and treat-
ment of children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases; no
family ever pays to receive its services; and
WHEREAS, Margie Adams has coordinated the Cohocton Annual Wheels for
Life Bike-A-Thon in support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
since its inaugural event in 1988; during that time the number of event
participants has grown from approximately 20 to more than 125; and
WHEREAS, Margie Adams's steadfast commitment over the last quarter of
a century has helped to raise significant funds in support of St. Jude's
lifesaving mission of finding cures and saving children, giving families
affected by life-threatening diseases much needed resources and more
reasons to hope; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Margie Adams has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Margie Adams has displayed through-
out her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Margie Adams in recognition of her 25 years of exemplary philan-
thropic volunteer service on behalf of St. Jude Children's Research
Hospital; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Margie Adams.
