LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Lois Lattimore upon the occasion of
being selected as Warren County's 2013 Senior Citizen of the Year

WHEREAS, Senior citizens bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to
the increasingly active roles they play in today's society; their past
contributions and future participation are a vital part of, and valuable
asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Lois Lattimore
upon the occasion of being selected as Warren County's 2013 Senior Citi-
zen of the Year, in recognition of her invaluable contributions to the
community through her outstanding, and much appreciated, volunteer work;
and
WHEREAS, As Warren County's 2013 Senior Citizen of the Year, Lois
Lattimore will participate in the Annual New York State Senior Citizens
Day Luncheon, hosted by the State Office for the Aging (SOFA), at the
Hart Theatre Lounge in the Egg, Albany, New York, on Tuesday, May 7,
2013; and
WHEREAS, A life-long resident of Glens Falls, New York, Lois Lattimore
was a dressmaker, and also worked as a teacher's aide at a local elemen-
tary school for 25 years; she is the proud parent of one son and one
daughter; and
WHEREAS, Lois Lattimore has been a dedicated volunteer at the Glens
Falls Senior Center for 17 years; and
WHEREAS, In addition to serving for a time on the Center's Board of
Directors, Lois Lattimore teaches an osteo class once a week, serves on
the Hospitality committee, is a regular volunteer driver for people who
need transportation to medical appointments, and knits for the Glens
Falls Hospital's cancer and neo-natal units; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Lois Lattimore's distinguished
record merits the recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative
Body; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Lois Lattimore upon the occasion of being selected as Warren Coun-
ty's 2013 Senior Citizen of the Year; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Lois Lattimore.
