LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Bethel Homes upon the occasion of
celebrating its 100th Anniversary on September 15, 2013

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to organizations of high purpose and worthy accomplishment whose
endeavors have a significant impact on the lives of others and the
community they serve; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Bethel
Homes upon the occasion of celebrating its 100th Anniversary on Sunday,
September 15, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Bethel Homes and Services has been serving the community for
over 100 years, and is still at the heart of senior living; it is the
only not-for-profit in Northern Westchester that provides a full contin-
uum of healthcare and housing to area seniors; and
WHEREAS, With locations in Croton-on-Hudson and Ossining, Bethel Homes
has been at the forefront of senior living by introducing programs to
meet the ever-changing needs of the elderly; and
WHEREAS, The Home Care and Adult Day Services programs of Bethel
Homes, provide services to seniors living in the community that enable
seniors to remain living at home by providing medical support and social
supervision; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Bethel Homes and Services offers Independent
Living at The Pines in Ossining, New York, as well as Assisted Living at
The Springvale Inn, in Croton-on-Hudson, New York; and
WHEREAS, Intensive, short-term rehabilitation is provided at Bethel
Homes, and with two skilled nursing facilities, patients can choose
Ossining or Croton-on-Hudson for therapy; a memory-impaired unit,
respite and hospice care are also available; and
WHEREAS, Serving over 500 persons and employing over 400 staff, Bethel
Homes is a significant healthcare provider, as well as economic resource
within Westchester County; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Bethel Homes upon the occasion of celebrating its 100th
Anniversary on September 15, 2013; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bethel Homes.
