LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring The Great Escape-Six Flags upon the
occasion of its designation as recipient of the Corporate Partnership
Award by Parks & Trails New York

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention to
the dedicated efforts of those individuals from across the State of New
York who volunteer their time and energies in service to the community;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor The
Great Escape-Six Flags upon the occasion of its designation as recipient
of the Corporate Partnership Award by Parks & Trails New York to be
celebrated at a special ceremony on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, in the
Legislative Office Building, Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Great Escape-Six Flags volunteers are being recognized
for their leadership, creativity, and donation of time, talent, and
materials behind many of New York's parks and trails; and
WHEREAS, The Corporate Partnership Award is being given to The Great
Escape-Six Flags for its committed efforts to restore the Village of
Granville's D&H Rail Trail after Hurricane Irene; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism is an essential element of all societies; it
provides a way in which the human values of community, caring and serv-
ing can be sustained and strengthened; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism promotes family and community solidarity; most
importantly, people who volunteer their time in civic and charitable
endeavors inspire others to the call of volunteerism; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor The Great Escape-Six Flags upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Corporate Partnership Award by Parks & Trails New York;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to The Great Escape-Six Flags.
