LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Women's
Abruzzese Club, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those
illustrious organizations which assume responsibility and leadership in
meeting the needs of their community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 70th Anniversary of the Women's Abruzzese Club, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, The Women's Abruzzese Club, Inc. was incorporated on October
18, 1943; its mission was: to gather into one group the Abruzzese women
living in and around the City of Binghamton; to promote and elevate the
social standards of its women; to foster the ties of sisterhood amongst
the members; to promote and cooperate in any festivities or celebrations
for the benefit of the community; and to spread among its members a
better knowledge of the English language; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, the Women's Abruzzese Club's intention was to be
grateful and dutiful to the United States of America; to respect and
obey her laws; to become citizens of the United States of America and to
take an active part in civic affairs; and to foster an undivided loyalty
and allegiance to the Constitution of the United States of America; and
WHEREAS, The success of the Women's Abruzzese Club, Inc. is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its members, whose involvement is, and
always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeav-
ors on behalf of the club and the population it serves; and
WHEREAS, In light of its commitment, dedication, and successful
efforts, it is the sense of this Legislative Body to extend its highest
commendation to the Women's Abruzzese Club, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Women's Abruzzese Club, Inc.;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Women's Abruzzese Club, Inc.
