LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Amy Clinton upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Albany County Executive's 2015 Volunteer
Award on April 20, 2015

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention to
the dedicated efforts of those individuals from across the State of New
York who volunteer their time and energies in service to the community;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Amy Clinton upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Albany County Executive's 2015 Volunteer Award which was celebrated on
Monday, April 20, 2015; and
WHEREAS, The Albany County Executive's Volunteer Award recognizes
outstanding residents who selflessly give of themselves for others, and
demonstrate an exceptional commitment to service, helping to make the
community a better place to live; Amy Clinton is one such individual;
and
WHEREAS, Amy Clinton of Albany, New York, plays a vital role in
several organizations in the county; currently, she serves on the Board
of the Women's Fund of the Capital Region, where she is a strong advo-
cate for women; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Amy Clinton is a member of the Board of Direc-
tors of Girls, Inc., an organization which inspires girls to be strong,
bold, and smart; and
WHEREAS, Extremely passionate in helping others, Amy Clinton served on
the Board of the Spina Bifida Association, and last year, she partic-
ipated in a 75-mile bike ride to raise funds for the Leukemia and
Lymphoma Society; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Amy Clinton has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism is an essential element of all societies; it
provides a way in which the human values of community, caring and serv-
ing can be sustained and strengthened; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism promotes family and community solidarity; most
importantly, people who volunteer their time in civic and charitable
endeavors inspire others to the call of volunteerism; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Amy Clinton has displayed throughout
her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Amy Clinton upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Albany County Executive's 2015 Volunteer Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Amy Clinton.
