LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Kayla Beaudoin upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by the Epilepsy Foundation of
Northeastern New York

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of certain
extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize and publicly acknowl-
edge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among us
all; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Kayla Beau-
doin upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the
Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York which was celebrated at its
annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Wolferts Roost
Country Club in Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, The mission of the Epilepsy Foundation is to stop seizures
and SUDEP, find a cure and overcome the challenges created by epilepsy
through efforts including education, advocacy and research to accelerate
ideas into therapies; and
WHEREAS, Kayla Beaudoin is the 7-year old daughter of Jerilee and
Ronald Beaudoin; she has a twin sister, Hannah and is a 2nd grader at
Tamarac Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, In addition, this esteemed young woman has been participating
in gymnastics and soccer for several years; and
WHEREAS, Kayla Beaudoin's seizures, which began at 6 months of age,
are diagnosed as partial onset, generalized tonic-clonic; her epilepsy
is well controlled on medication but she does have periodic breakthrough
seizures; and
WHEREAS, Kayla Beaudoin lives every day to the fullest, and is care-
free and adventurous; she views life as having no boundaries or barri-
ers; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Kayla Beaudoin upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kayla Beaudoin.
