LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Maegan Hurwitz upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic
Athletic Association as a 2015 Senior Scholar

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Maegan Hurwitz
upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2015 Senior
Scholar; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Maegan Hurwitz has distin-
guished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent, and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purpose-
fulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years;
and
WHEREAS, Maegan Hurwitz, a student at Fallsburg High School in Falls-
burg, New York, ranked 9th in her class with a 88.1 GPA; she partic-
ipated in cheerleading, and both indoor and outdoor track; and
WHEREAS, A member of the National Honor Society, Maegan Hurwitz plans
to attend University of Hartford to study radiologic technology or
Misericordia University to study medical imaging; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Maegan Hurwitz
has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Maegan Hurwitz may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her accom-
plishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and
WHEREAS, Maegan Hurwitz represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of her
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Maegan Hurwitz upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2015 Senior Scholar, and to wish her well in her future endeavors; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Maegan Hurwitz.
