LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Andrew Meier upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic
Athletic Association as a 2015 Senior Scholar

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Andrew Meier
upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2015 Senior
Scholar; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Andrew Meier has distinguished
himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and maturity,
establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposefulness of
life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Andrew Meier, a student at S.S. Seward Institute in Florida,
New York, ranked 4th in his class with a 98.4 GPA, and participated in
cross country on the track team; and
WHEREAS, A member of the National Honor Society, Andrew Meier was a
member of the Drama Club, Runners Club, the school Band, and Boy Scouts
of America; he plans to attend Stevens Institute of Technology and major
in civil engineering; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Andrew Meier
has brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Andrew Meier may stand with pride in his achievements, expe-
riencing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his accomplish-
ments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he continues
his education; and
WHEREAS, Andrew Meier represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of his
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Andrew Meier upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2015 Senior Scholar, and to wish him well in his future endeavors; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Andrew Meier.
