LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Zachrey Nilsen upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic
Athletic Association as a 2015 Senior Scholar

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Zachrey Nilsen
upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2015 Senior
Scholar; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Zachrey Nilsen has distin-
guished himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and matu-
rity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposeful-
ness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Zachrey Nilsen, a student at Tri-Valley High School in Never-
sink, New York, ranked 1st in his class with a 97.6 GPA; he participated
in numerous sports including soccer, football, basketball, track and
golf; and
WHEREAS, Valedictorian of his class, Zachrey Nilsen was a member of
the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, and
Varsity Athletic Club, and served as president of the Student Council;
he plans to attend University of Denver, majoring in political science,
and then go on to law school; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Zachrey Nilsen
has brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Zachrey Nilsen may stand with pride in his achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his accom-
plishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he contin-
ues his education; and
WHEREAS, Zachrey Nilsen represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of his
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Zachrey Nilsen upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2015 Senior Scholar, and to wish him well in his future endeavors; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Zachrey Nilsen.
