LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jenna Zayas upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic
Athletic Association as a 2015 Senior Scholar

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jenna Zayas
upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2015 Senior
Scholar; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Jenna Zayas has distinguished
herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent, and maturity,
establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposefulness of
life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Jenna Zayas, a student at Livingston Manor High School in
Livingston Manor, New York, ranked 5th in her class with a 93.1 GPA; she
played both soccer and softball; and
WHEREAS, Treasurer of the National Honor Society, Jenna Zayas was a
member of the Yearbook Club, and served as President of the Student
Council; she plans to attend University of North Carolina at Wilmington
to study radiology; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Jenna Zayas has
brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Jenna Zayas may stand with pride in her achievements, experi-
encing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her accomplish-
ments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she continues
her education; and
WHEREAS, Jenna Zayas represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of her
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jenna Zayas upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2015 Senior Scholar, and to wish her well in her future endeavors; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jenna Zayas.
