LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Molly Maycock upon the occasion of being
named an Outstanding Student by the Capital District YMCA on May 14,
2015
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Molly Maycock upon the occasion of being named an Outstanding Student by
the Capital District YMCA to be celebrated at its 10th Annual Student
and Educator Awards Breakfast Reception, on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at
the Sarazen Student Union, Siena College, Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, This commendation honors high school students and educators
for their dedication to service in their schools, community, and local
YMCA; and
WHEREAS, Molly Maycock is currently a junior at Albany High School;
this exceptional young woman is extremely dedicated in giving back to
both her school and her community; and
WHEREAS, For many years, Molly Maycock has participated in various
volunteer activities such as working at St. Ann's Welcome Table, St.
Ann's Soup Kitchen, the local Food Bank, the St. Vincent's Church Food
Pantry and helped wrap gifts at Colonie Center; and
WHEREAS, In her school, Molly Maycock is a vital member of the Color
Guard, and has been on the Girl's Lacrosse Team for three years; in
addition, she is a volunteer lacrosse referee; and
WHEREAS, An exceptional student, Molly Maycock is a school leader who
continually demonstrates her ability to juggle sports, academics and
extracurricular activities; and
WHEREAS, With a sense of civic duty and her commitment to others,
Molly Maycock represents the best development of the potential which is
inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; and
WHEREAS, This occasion presents an opportunity for this Legislative
Body to wish Molly Maycock continued success throughout her school years
and beyond; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Molly Maycock upon the occasion of being named an Outstanding
Student by the Capital District YMCA on May 14, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Molly Maycock.
