Legislative Resolution congratulating Pioneer Bank upon the occasion of
its designation as recipient of the Established Business of the Year
Award by the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those business
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Pioneer
Bank upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of the Estab-
lished Business of the Year Award by the Downtown Troy Business Improve-
ment District; this auspicious occasion was celebrated at the Troy Busi-
ness Improvement District's annual dinner on Wednesday, December 3, 2014
at Franklin Plaza in Troy, New York; and
WHEREAS, The mission of the Downtown Troy Business Improvement
District (BID) is to cultivate and advocate for the economic growth of
downtown Troy by creating an inviting, dynamic, and sustainable communi-
ty which celebrates the city's history while building towards its
future; and
WHEREAS, The Downtown Troy BID is dedicated to improving the quality
of life within the district, and to further enhance and develop its
community into a more vibrant, attractive destination for visitors,
businesses, residents, workers and property owners; and
WHEREAS, Pioneer Bank was founded in 1889 to serve the city of Troy
and its residents; the principles behind its mutual bank model are to
promote savings, encourage home ownership and provide financial support
to help people build better lives; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the years, Pioneer Bank has endeavored to be a
financial institution whose management decisions are made for the good
of the customer and whose success benefits the entire community; and
WHEREAS, Pioneer Bank has continued to grow over its illustrious
history, expanding its capabilities and reach, while keeping the same
values and deep respect for its founding principles; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Pioneer Bank upon the occasion of its designation as recip-
ient of the Established Business of the Year Award by the Downtown Troy
Business Improvement District; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Pioneer Bank.
