LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending outgoing President Jeanne Egan upon
the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the Kiwanis
Club of North Shore, Long Island

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
outgoing President Jeanne Egan for distinguished service to the Kiwanis
Club of North Shore, Long Island, to be celebrated on Thursday, April
30, 2015, at the Swan Club, Roslyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, Kiwanis International was founded in 1915, in Detroit, Michi-
gan; a year later, a club in Hamilton, Ontario was formed; in the early
years, members focused on business networking; in 1919, the organization
changed its focus to service; and
WHEREAS, Jeanne Egan faithfully served the Kiwanis Club of North
Shore, Long Island from 2013-2014; throughout her year-long tenure as
President, she led the Club in living up to its mission, "Dedicated to
improving the world, one child and one community at a time"; and
WHEREAS, As President, Jeanne Egan was proud to lead several fundrais-
ers to benefit the Making Headway Foundation, Chappaqua, New York, a
vital organization which assists families with children with brain or
spinal cord tumors; and
WHEREAS, Jeanne Egan has served the interests of the people of the
Empire State by serving as President of the Kiwanis Club of North Shore,
Long Island from 2013-2014; and
WHEREAS, This occasion presents an opportunity for this Legislative
Body to recognize and pay tribute to outgoing President Jeanne Egan; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend outgoing President Jeanne Egan for distinguished service to the
Kiwanis Club of North Shore, Long Island; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to outgoing President Jeanne Egan.
