LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Local Development Corporation of
East New York (LDCENY) upon the occasion of hosting its 35th Annual
Awards Dinner on June 4, 2015

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to organizations of high purpose and worthy accomplishments
whose endeavors have a significant impact on the lives of others and the
communities they serve; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Local Development Corporation of East New York (LDCENY) upon the
occasion of hosting its 35th Annual Awards Dinner, celebrated on Thurs-
day, June 4, 2015, at The Liberty Warehouse, Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, LDCENY empowers low-to-moderate income women and minorities
with programs which promote economic sufficiency, build assets and
improve their lives and those of their families; and
WHEREAS, This vital organization works with local businesses to retain
and build industry and commerce, create jobs and improve economic oppor-
tunities for local residents and neighborhood enterprises; and
WHEREAS, Under the luminous leadership of Executive Director, Sherry
Roberts, LDCENY offers its clients numerous services and programs,
including Starting a Business, Grow Your Business, Money Management,
Mentoring Program, Workshops and Seminars, Small Business Financing, and
Professional Development, as well as a Women's Business Center; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those organiza-
tions which enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and
have shown a long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have
earned the recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Local Development Corporation of East New York upon the
occasion of hosting its 35th Annual Awards Dinner on June 4, 2015; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Sherry Roberts, Executive Director, Local Development Corpo-
ration of East New York.
