LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Darab Sullivan-Davachi upon the occasion
of his designation as recipient of the 2015 Scholarship Award by the
Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Darab Sullivan-Davachi upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the 2015 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, This momentous occasion will be celebrated at the 17th Annual
Tuition Assistance Awards Celebration on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at
Anthony's Pier 9, New Windsor, New York; and
WHEREAS, A senior at Beacon High School, Darab Sullivan-Davachi has
been a member of the Varsity Golf Team since 2010; he plans to attend
the State University of New York at Buffalo or New Paltz in pursuit of a
degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field; and
WHEREAS, Darab Sullivan-Davachi has been a member of the Tuskegee
Airmen chapter's Lieutenant Lee A. Archer Jr. Red Tail Youth Flying
Program for the past five years; he has also been a member of the United
States Naval Sea Cadet Corps since 2010; and
WHEREAS, In addition, he is a volunteer firefighter for the Beacon
Fire Department, and plans to make professional firefighting his life's
work; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his high school career, Darab Sullivan-Davachi has
displayed exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community
responsibility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled;
and
WHEREAS, Darab Sullivan-Davachi, in achieving this academic honor, may
take just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of
excellence he brings to his family, friends, community and school; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Darab Sullivan-Davachi upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the 2015 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene
Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and to extend to him
best wishes for a future of purposeful success and well-being; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Darab Sullivan-Davachi.
