LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Eugene Napierski upon the occasion
of his induction into the 2015 Athletic Hall of Fame by the Christian
Brothers Academy on October 3, 2015

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those indi-
viduals whose exceptional athletic prowess leaves an enduring legacy in
their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Eugene Napierski upon the occasion of his induction into the 2015
Athletic Hall of Fame by the Christian Brothers Academy, celebrated at
its Induction Ceremony on Saturday, October 3, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Eugene Napierski proudly joins his Uncle Raymond Napierski
who is also a member of the Christian Brothers Academy (CBA) Athletic
Hall of Fame; and
WHEREAS, A member of the class of 1961, Eugene Napierski is an impor-
tant figure in the history of the CBA athletics program; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding athlete, Eugene Napierski played Varsity Foot-
ball for three years, and participated on both the Track and Tennis Team
for two years; and
WHEREAS, Remembered as number 21 on the Varsity Football Team, Eugene
Napierski was instrumental in helping his team remain undefeated
throughout their 1958-1959 season; in addition, he helped the team win
the Mythical City Championship during the 1960-1961 season; and
WHEREAS, As a Senior, Eugene Napierski was named to the All-Albany
Football Team; and
WHEREAS, After graduation, Eugene Napierski earned his Bachelor's
degree in History from Siena College in 1965; he then went on to gradu-
ate cum laude from Albany Law School in 1968; and
WHEREAS, A successful attorney, Eugene Napierski has been named Best
Lawyer in America and Super Lawyer; in addition, he was honored as a
fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and was selected as one
of the Top 25 Lawyers in Upstate New York; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his two sons, Eugene, and
Daniel; two daughters, Christine and Michelle, and his 10 beloved grand-
children, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of his life and
rejoice in his accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, Athletes such as Eugene Napierski provide a tremendous
service to the future of our State and Nation, inspiring generations of
student-athletes in their athletic journeys and ensuring their success
in their future years; and
WHEREAS, Eugene Napierski has clearly been an inspiration to the youth
of the SS Seward Institute, as well as to the community-at-large, and
accordingly merits recognition and applause for his impressive dedi-
cation to others; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals who work to support our proud tradition of
public education by providing their skills and talents to our students
and our schools; now, therefore, be
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Eugene Napierski upon the occasion of his induction into
the 2015 Athletic Hall of Fame by the Christian Brothers Academy on
October 3, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Eugene Napierski.
