LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION mourning the death of Josephine A. Cavalieri,
devoted mother and distinguished citizen throughout her community
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay just tribute
to citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Josephine A. Sciabarrasi Cavalieri died on Thursday, January
21, 2016, at the age of 93; and
WHEREAS, Those fortunate to have known Josephine A. Cavalieri will
remember her many random acts of kindness; this remarkable woman was a
valued and involved member of her community and was devoted to her chil-
dren; and
WHEREAS, Predeceased by her husband, Louis Cavalieri, and her daugh-
ter, Angela Bailey; two brothers, Angelo (late Josephine) Sciabarrasi,
and Frank (Marge Scranton) Sciabarrasi, and two sisters, Anne (late
Donald) Gregory and Christine (late Glenn) Bush; Josephine A. Cavalieri
is survived by two children, Joanne Cavalieri and Louis (Donna) Cavali-
eri, her brother, Louis (Arlene) Sciabarrasi, her son-in-law William
Bailey and an adopted daughter Patricia Webster; seven grandchildren,
Louis (Barb) Cavalieri, Tammy Cavalieri, William (Kim) Cavalieri, Shawn
(Ronald) LoTempio, William (Lori) Bailey, Maria (Robert) Pace, and Jason
(Allison O'Leary) Bailey; 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-
grandchildren; as well as her sister-in-law Barbara Cavalieri and many
nieces and nephews; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit, imbued with a sense of
compassion, and comforted by a loving family, Josephine A. Cavalieri
leaves behind a legacy which will long endure the passage of time and
will remain as a comforting memory to all she served and befriended;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
celebrate the benevolent life of Josephine A. Cavalieri, proud mother,
endearing grandmother and affectionate great-grandmother and great-
great-grandmother, and to express its deepest condolences to her family;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Josephine A. Cavalieri.
