LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Jerry Iavarone upon the occasion
of receiving the Arrow of Light Award, the highest of Cub Scout honors,
on February 28, 2016

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body, in accord with its
long-standing traditions, to honor the youth of today, and leaders of
tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the ideals and
values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, Jerry Iavarone, a member of Cub Scout Pack 489, New Hyde
Park, New York, through his diligence and vigorous efforts, will achieve
the highest of Cub Scout honors, the Arrow of Light Award, to be cele-
brated at the Annual Blue and Gold Banquet on Sunday, February 28, 2016,
at the Church of the Holy Spirit, New Hyde Park, New York; in addition,
the Pack will observe the birthday of Boy Scouts of America; and
WHEREAS, To earn the Arrow of Light Award, Jerry Iavarone demonstrated
his outstanding commitment and strong character through meeting multiple
activity, knowledge and skill requirements; and
WHEREAS, Jerry Iavarone is encouraged to continue with Scouting, in
recognition of the importance of building the personal resources neces-
sary to emerge as a leader, equipped to meet the challenges of our
complex society; and
WHEREAS, America has achieved her greatest heights of glory through
the dedication, determination and tireless efforts of the outstanding
citizens of this Nation; and
WHEREAS, It is only with the continued diligence and devotion of our
youth, tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain her glory; and
WHEREAS, The Boy Scouts of America and its members are dedicated to
the development of character and leadership in the youth of this Nation;
and
WHEREAS, Jerry Iavarone is a credit to his family, school, community,
and his State and Nation, and it is certain that his future will be
filled with accomplishments of equal importance; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Jerry Iavarone upon the occasion of receiving the Arrow of
Light Award, the highest of Cub Scout honors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jerry Iavarone.
