LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Audrey Bodrewicz upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition after 55 years of dedicated
service to the Hicksville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary

WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in this Nation, and the great
State of New York, is reflective of the purposeful lives and good works
of those patriotic and civic-minded community members who dedicate their
lives and careers to the service of others; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Audrey
Bodrewicz upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition
after 55 years of dedicated service to the Hicksville Fire Department
Ladies Auxiliary, to be celebrated at its Annual Inspection and Instal-
lation Dinner on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at the Hilton Long
Island/Huntington, Melville, New York; and
WHEREAS, Historically, the ladies auxiliary of a volunteer fire compa-
ny has been organized to assist, support, and encourage the fire company
in its good work; it is the aim of the ladies auxiliary to cultivate a
spirit of harmony, to promote sociability and to sustain the esteem and
admiration of the community in which it serves; and
WHEREAS, The members of this worthy organization provide nourishment
to firefighters during emergency incidents, and are always ready to
support and fulfill the needs of the fire department; Audrey Bodrewicz
is one such individual; and
WHEREAS, Audrey Bodrewicz and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hicksville
Fire Department has carried out these important functions in an exem-
plary manner, providing an invaluable service to the fire department and
community; and
WHEREAS, It takes a special dedication, a strong desire to help others
and a tireless sense of community to volunteer selflessly, supporting
and assisting the firefighters in the provision of fire protection and
prevention; and
WHEREAS, Audrey Bodrewicz is deserving of the highest commendation of
this Legislative Body for her commitment to the Hicksville Fire Depart-
ment, as she has helped to advance the perception of Hicksville as a
caring and united community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Audrey Bodrewicz upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition after 55 years of dedicated service to the Hicks-
ville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Audrey Bodrewicz.
