LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Frederick Piasecki upon the occasion
of being named Public Works Leader of the Year by the American Public
Works Association on February 11, 2016

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Frederick Piasecki upon the occasion of being named Public Works Leader
of the Year by the American Public Works Association, celebrated at an
Awards Ceremony on Thursday, February 11, 2016; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award was conferred by the Western Branch of
the New York Chapter of the American Public Works Association; it was
bestowed upon Frederick Piasecki for his outstanding achievements as
Orchard Park Highway Superintendent; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure, Frederick Piasecki has been dedicated
to ensuring that the roads in the community in which he lives and works
are safe for all travelers; and
WHEREAS, As Superintendent, Frederick Piasecki has been instrumental
in integrating cost-effective environmentally-friendly measures to
improving the highway department, and has served on the Town Highway
Superintendent Association of Erie County; and
WHEREAS, In addition to his public works, Frederick Piasecki has
proudly supported worthy causes such as the Women and Children's Hospi-
tal, Buffalo, New York; and
WHEREAS, Previously, Frederick Piasecki was the recipient of an award
from an infrastructure construction and maintenance association for the
Highway Department's performance in paving a local roadway; and
WHEREAS, In his capacity as Highway Superintendent, Frederick Piasecki
has served with loyalty, honor and distinction, earning the admiration,
esteem and affection of his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, In his official acts, Frederick Piasecki was governed by a
keen sense of duty and has always shown a unique grasp of human prob-
lems; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Frederick Piasecki upon the occasion of being named Public Works
Leader of the Year by the American Public Works Association on February
11, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Frederick Piasecki.
