LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the NVLD Project upon the occasion of
hosting its Annual Event on March 15, 2016

WHEREAS, Individuals and organizations devoted to improving the quality
of life for others, enabling them to build lives of dignity and self-
worth are deserving of the highest praise and recognition; and
WHEREAS, From time to time, society calls upon these individuals and
organizations to be recognized for the significance of their contrib-
utions and efforts to assist others in developing the skills necessary
to be successful, productive citizens; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend the NVLD
Project upon the occasion of hosting its Annual Event on Tuesday, March
15, 2016, at the Harmonie Club in New York City; and
WHEREAS, The NVLD Project envisions a world where those with social
and spatial disabilities, particularly non-verbal learning disabilities
(NVLD), can proudly address their differences and learn to live fuller,
more satisfying lives; and
WHEREAS, With a mission to raise awareness, build support and create
helpful solutions for children and adults with non-verbal learning disa-
bilities, the NVLD Project offers a variety of programs, including
educational workshops, research and ongoing advocacy; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, the NVLD Project seeks to define NVLD and secure
an official diagnosis as a valid disorder in the Diagnostic and Statis-
tical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM); and
WHEREAS, The success of the NVLD Project is in direct correlation to
the efforts of its members, whose involvement is, and always has been,
characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and
an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of
the organization and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the NVLD Project; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the NVLD Project upon the occasion of hosting its Annual Event
on March 15, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the NVLD Project.
