LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Ilio
DiPaolo's Restaurant

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses which substantially
contribute to the economic vitality of their communities and the entire
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 50th Anniversary of Ilio DiPaolo's Restaurant; and
WHEREAS, In 1965, Hall of Fame Wrestler, Ilio DiPaolo opened the doors
to a Western New York tradition and one of the most popular dining spots
in the area; and
WHEREAS, Ilio DiPaolo's Restaurant is located on South Park Avenue in
Blasdell, New York, just ten minutes from Downtown Buffalo, HarborCenter
and Ralph Wilson Stadium; and
WHEREAS, After five decades in business, Ilio DiPaolo's Restaurant
continues to delight customers with Old-World Italian recipes, warm
family atmosphere and friendly service; open for lunch or dinner, Ilio's
features authentic Italian favorites topped with its famous House Sauce,
grilled to perfection steaks, fresh cut veal and delicious seafood dish-
es; and
WHEREAS, In addition to its extensive lunch and dinner menus, Ilio
DiPaolo's Restaurant offers daily specials, as well as a gluten-free
menu and vegetarian options for those with special dietary requirements;
and
WHEREAS, After 50 years, Brothers Dennis and Michael DiPaolo continue
to carry on their father's tradition of serving excellent food at
reasonable prices; customers can dine in the ambience of Tuscany with
hand-painted murals of Ilio DiPaolo's hometown of Introdacqua, Italy,
and decor that celebrates his pro wrestling career as well as stories
from the past and celebrity photos; and
WHEREAS, Under the culinary expertise of Chef Michael DiPaolo, a grad-
uate of the prestigious Culinary Institute in Hyde Park, New York, Ilio
DiPaolo's Restaurant is the recipient of the Golden Fork Award and Best
Italian Food Award by Citysearch; and
WHEREAS, Ilio DiPaolo's Restaurant also offers an outdoor courtyard,
and ringside lounge which features an extensive martini selection and
wine list; its entire menu is available for take-out in the Al Casa
Italian Market, and events are made special with private banquet facili-
ties for up to 400 people in five beautiful locations; and
WHEREAS, Active within the community it so ably serves, Ilio DiPaolo's
Restaurant is a member of the New York State Restaurant Association, The
WNY Chapter of the New York State Restaurant Association and the
F.I.R.S.T. organization; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents a unique opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Ilio DiPaolo's
Restaurant; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional business and its contributions to the local and
State economies, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Ilio DiPaolo's Restaurant and Ring-
side Lounge; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Ilio DiPaolo's Restaurant.
