LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Peter Lauricella upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the Capital District YMCA President's
Award on April 21, 2016

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Peter Lauricella upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Capital District YMCA President's Award to be celebrated at its
Annual President's Award Dinner, on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at the
Albany Marriott, Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, An attorney and partner with Wilson Elser LLP, Peter Lauri-
cella has extensive experience with all phases of litigation in state,
federal, administrative and bankruptcy courts, including trials and
appeals; he is currently Chair of his firm's litigation practice in
Albany, where he leads a growing team of more than 15 attorneys and
paraprofessionals; and
WHEREAS, Peter Lauricella is also Vice Chair of Wilson Elser's Commer-
cial Litigation practice nationwide, and represents clients in all types
of complex commercial and corporate matters, as well as in general
corporate transactions and professional liability lawsuits; and
WHEREAS, Moreover, this esteemed lawyer co-leads his firm's Government
Investigations and Contracts practice where he assists corporate clients
in navigating the complex maze of business regulations; he also provides
representation to companies that are the subject of government investi-
gations and handles proceedings involving the award or denial of govern-
ment contracts; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his illustrious career, Peter Lauricella has
achieved successful outcomes for clients through his strong work ethic,
meticulous preparation and his commitment to being unfailingly accessi-
ble and responsive; and
WHEREAS, Peter Lauricella has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; he has served on the boards of directors
for several non-profit organizations and chamber of commerce committees,
including his local YMCA where he holds the position of Chairman; and
WHEREAS, With a sense of civic responsibility, Peter Lauricella became
a member of the the Judicial Qualifications and Screening Committee in
2011, where he has assisted in interviewing and reviewing the qualifica-
tions of candidates running for state judgeships; he also served for six
years on the Albany County Ethics Commission, and most recently, the
Town of Bethlehem Ethics Board; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Peter Lauricella has served on a Citizens
Committee charged with developing a plan to manage the growth of an
important local business corridor, and has taught business and commer-
cial law; and
WHEREAS, The recipient of numerous awards and honors for his outstand-
ing service Peter Lauricella was selected for inclusion in the Upstate
New York SUPER LAWYERS, and was selected by THE BUSINESS REVIEW as a
"Forty Under Forty" honoree; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Peter Lauricella has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Peter Lauricella has displayed over
the years; he has exhibited the true spirit of this esteemed award
through his tireless dedication to the YMCA and his community; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Peter Lauricella upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Capital District YMCA President's Award on April 21, 2016; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Peter Lauricella.
