LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Syra-
cuse University Men's Lacrosse Team on April 1, 2016

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor and congratu-
late Syracuse University, a highly esteemed educational institution upon
the 100th Anniversary of its world renowned Men's Lacrosse Team, which
will be marked and celebrated during a special event on April 1, 2016;
and
WHEREAS, Since 1916, the Syracuse Orange Men's Lacrosse program has
featured some of the best players in the history of the sport, including
26 eventual members of the United States Lacrosse Hall of Fame; and
WHEREAS, Over the last 100 years, the Syracuse University Men's
Lacrosse program has accomplished great feats, including: 11 N.C.A.A.
National Championships, four U.S.I.L.A Championships, and an outstanding
overall record of 870-332-16; and
WHEREAS, The Syracuse University Men's Lacrosse program has garnered
430 All-America honors and two Tewaaraton Trophy winners during its
legendary history; and
WHEREAS, During its illustrious history, the program has featured
numerous great athletes from around the country, including many from New
York State; and
WHEREAS, The talented players of Syracuse Lacrosse, both past and
present, have performed with praiseworthy determination and skill,
expertly guided by coaches of superb leadership abilities and steadfast
commitment; and
WHEREAS, Their talent and exemplary efforts in achieving athletic and
academic excellence have earned for the members and coaches of the Syra-
cuse University Men's Lacrosse teams nationwide respect and acclaim; and
WHEREAS, The legacy of Syracuse University Men's Lacrosse program
honors the history and tradition of the game of lacrosse that was
created and passed down by the Haudenosaunee Nation of New York State;
and
WHEREAS, The current members and coaches of the Syracuse University
Men's Lacrosse program continue this tradition and excellence to this
day; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Syracuse University and its Men's Lacrosse Team upon the
celebration of its 100th Anniversary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably embossed, be trans-
mitted to representatives of Syracuse University and its Men's Lacrosse
Team.
